The Mattress Factory

Well… I finally made it to The Mattress Factory. For those who are Pittsburgh deprived The Mattress Factory is a museum of contemporary art that exhibits installation art. It is located in the ever so Sesame Street-esque Mexican War Streets of the Northside. Unlike most traditional art museums, The Mattress Factory is an installation art museum which means it is interactive and allows the viewer to become a participant in the art. It truly is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon and is definitely on my mandatory things to do in Pittsburgh list.

Although The Mattress Factory does not allow pictures to be taken of the exhibits I did manage to find a couple of pictures online that featured a few of my favorites.

hello love, so glad you commented on my blog : ) can't wait for you to be back in the bf!

i do feel like i have to tell you something, just cuz of your comment about the guy getting kicked out of young life. i'm just clarifying. i don't really know what this guy said or did that got him kicked out, but i would urge you not to hold it against the organization of young life. young life as an organization will always be fallible because it is run by sinning humans. there are, in fact, many people who have been hurt by it in the past, including it's founder. however, the mission of young life is infallible. to reach every kid for Christ. i love young life because i get to hang out with a community of christians who all take God's commandment to make disciples seriously. because young life is a nondenominational effort, there will inevitably be squabbles and people will be hurt. despite this i would still implore you to be a supporter of the mission of young life. anyway, i know you weren't trying to diss me or anything, i just thought i would clarify that...and i am interested to read about what this guy says cuz pacifism rules!

and you are right. asian baby + hamburger DOES = hilarious.

Jo, I was not accusing the young life of anything. I just found it hilarious that this man was kicked out of young life (during the 1960’s mind you) for having some radical ideas which are not so radical anymore. I just thought his whole story was simply hilarious. Sorry for the confusion.
